Registration fees may be paid by VISA or MasterCard and a confirmation email will be sent immediately.
The deadline for online registration is midnight on Wednesday, September 8th for the Island Girls and Guys Wasaga Beach Half Marathon. Registrations will be accepted on race day - plan to arrive early.
Please note that shirt sizes are available while quantities last. Shirt sizes are not guaranteed.
Race Kit Pickup
Sunday, September 12th from 7:00am to 8:45 am at the Wasaga Beach Main Beach.
Venue Information
Wasaga Beach is a popular four season tourist destination situated in Simcoe County at the southern end of Georgian Bay. It is nestled in and around 14 kilometres of white sandy beach.
Directions
HWY 400 North to Barrie
Continue North on HWY 400
Exit at Horseshoe Valley Rd
Turn Left (WEST) on Horseshoe Valley Rd and travel 4.5km WEST to County Road 27
Turn Right (NORTH) on County Road 27 and travel 11km NORTH to Elmvale
Turn LEFT (WEST) onto Queen St/Road 92 and travel 15km WEST to Wasaga Beach
Merge right and follow Main Street towards the Beach
Turn right off Main St /Mosley approx 100m after crossing the river bridge onto 1st Street

Parking
There are a number of parking lots in the Main Beach Area.

Flat and fast, out and back course through the Main Beach Area, surrounding parks and quiet lanes.
The race will begin and end on Beach Dr.The spectator friendly start begins with a 1K loop where the runners pass by the start/finish line before heading out on the main course through beach side parks and lanes. The out and back course turns around at the west end of Wasaga Beach.
The course will remain open for 3 1/2 hours.
Aid Stations
Aid stations will be located approximately 2K, 4K, 8K, 12K, 16K and 20K and will serve lemon lime infinIT replacement fluid followed by water. Vaseline and band aids will be available at each aid station. Port-a-potties will be located at each aid station and at the start and finish.
Each kilometre will be accurately marked and aid stations will be approximately 100 metres after the designated kilometre mark.
Race Day Information
Start/finish Line
Dry and secure baggage check will be available. Change room facilities are available within 500m of the finish area.
Post Race Party
The InfraRed Band will be sending off the participants with a lively Caribbean beat. They will keep the party going until the racers return.
Post race food, including tropical fruit and refreshments will be available to all participants.
Awards/Prizing
Finishers in the Island Girls and Guys Wasaga Beach Half Marathon will receive a fun, flip-flop medal!
Prizing for the half marathon will include merchandise and gift certificates from our Prize Sponsors Running Free and Running Skirts. Gift certificate prizing will be awarded to the top three finishers in the OVERALL and MASTERS categories.
Age group prizing will be awarded to the top three finishers in each age group in the half marathon. Awards include a medal and personalized picture award from Mike Cheliak Photography.
Age categories are as follows: 19 & Under, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+. No duplication of prizing.
