Fees & Registration

Online registration through EventsOnline is now open!  Registration fees may be paid by VISA or MasterCard and a confirmation email will be sent immediately. 

Registration fees for the Island Girl Toronto 5K INCLUDE the round-trip ferry fee.

The deadline for online registration is midnight on Wednesday, September 8th. Registrations will be accepted on race day provided the race has not reached it's capacity.

Personalized Race Bibs! Don't miss the cut off to get your name printed on your race bib. The cut off date for personalized bibs is Sunday, September 5th. Spectators can cheer you on as you cross the finish line and throughout the course!


Every participant will receive a Zorrel technical shirt. No shirt sizes are guaranteed. 

Race Kit Pickup

Race Kit Pick Up - Friday, September 10th - 4:00pm - 7:30pm

Location: Toronto Island Ferry Docks located at the foot of Bay Street on Queens Quay, just west of the Westin Harbour Castle. Look for our tent at the entrance to the ferry docks.

We encourage all participants to pick up your race kit on Friday afternoon.  You will be given your BIB, t-shirt, race kit and ferry ticket.  On Saturday all you need to do is board the Centre Island ferry and pick up your timing chip on the Island.

Race Kit Pick Up - Race Day Saturday, September 11th - 7:00am - 8:30am

Location: Toronto Island Ferry Docks located at the foot of Bay Street on Queens Quay, just west of the Westin Harbour Castle. Look for our tent at the entrance to the ferry docks.

On race day participants will pick up their ferry ticket only on the mainland before boarding the Centre Island ferry. 

Once on the Island you will receive your race bib, t-shirt, race kit and timing chip. 

 

Venue Information

Getting to the Island is easy! The 10-minute ferry ride from downtown takes you to a tranquil community with an Island way of life. The 550-acre island park made up of several small islands makes for a unique race course and venue.

The Toronto Ferry Dock is located at the foot of Bay Street and Queens Quay, just west of the Westin Harbour Castle. Participants will board the ferry to Centre Island.

Ferries on race day, Saturday September 11th leave the mainland for CENTRE ISLAND at:

7:30 am and 8:00 am

The fall Ferry schedule can be found on this link. There are two ferries on race morning 7:30 am and 8:00 am.  Anyone who has not picked up their race kit is strongly encouraged to be on the 7:30 am ferry.   Be sure to board the ferry to Centre Island.  Return ferries will leave the island every half hour starting at 10:45 am.

Eastbound Exit at Spadina (if Eastbound) or
Sherbourne/Jarvis (if Westbound)
Travel South to Queens Quay
Take Queens Quay towards Bay St
The Toronto Island Ferry Docks are behind the Westin Harbour Castle at Queens Quay/Bay St
Catch the ferry to Centre Island

Parking

Parking is available one block north at Lakeshore and Bay, one block west on Queens Quay between Bay and York Street, one block east opposite the Toronto Star building, adjacent to Captain Johns restaurant.

Course Information

A fun, out and back 5K race on Centre Island

Mostly flat and fast with a small incline at the start and finish.  This out and back course is on paved road.  Each km accurately marked.

Aid Stations

One water station will be located at the 2.5K mark. There will be a portable toilet at this water station as well. 

Race Day Information

Start/finish Line

Dry and secure baggage check will be available. There are plenty of change facilities and washrooms at the start line. Leave yourself time to check your gear.

Post Race Party

The InfraRed Band will be sending off the participants with a lively Caribbean beat.  They will keep the party going until the racers return.

Post race food, including tropical fruit and refreshments will be available to all participants.

Awards/Prizing

Prizing will include merchandise and gift certificates from our Prize Sponsors Running Free and Running Skirts.  The top three overall and top three masters will receive awards.  No age group awards for the 5K.

There are no finishers medals for the Island Girl 5K.
